Publication Ethics

Research in Science and Mathematics Education (RISEME) is a peer-reviewed journal. This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal as well as allegations of research misconduct, including the author, the Editorial Team, the peer-reviewer, and the publisher (Piramida Akademi). This statement is based on COPE's Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Ethical Guideline for Journal Publication

The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed RISEME is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It reflects the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Maintaining ethical standards ensures the integrity of the scholarly record. Therefore, all parties involved—the author, editor, reviewer, publisher, and society—must agree upon these ethical expectations.

Piramida Akademi, as publisher of RISEME, takes its responsibilities seriously and ensures that commercial revenue such as advertising or reprints does not influence editorial decisions.

Allegations of Research Misconduct

Research misconduct includes fabrication, falsification, citation manipulation, or plagiarism. Editors are responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scientific record when such issues arise.

In cases of suspected misconduct, Editors and the Editorial Board follow COPE guidelines, including investigating allegations. Manuscripts found to contain misconduct will be rejected. Published papers containing misconduct may be retracted and linked to the original article.

The process includes verifying the allegation, assessing conflicts of interest, requesting responses from corresponding authors, and consulting experts when needed. Minor concerns may be addressed through corrections or clarifications.

Institutions are expected to conduct appropriate investigations. Authors, journals, and institutions share responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of the scientific record.

Publication Decisions

The editor of RISEME is responsible for deciding which articles should be published, guided by the journal’s editorial policies and ethical standards.

Complaints and Appeals

RISEME provides clear procedures for handling complaints related to editorial processes, citation manipulation, unfair review, or peer-review misconduct. Complaints are handled based on COPE guidelines.
